At the 34th kilometer of the Zhitomir-Mogilev-Podolsky highway in the village of Osykovo, about 40 local self-defense activists gathered and organized an action to draw attention to the problems of military personnel.
This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the Zhytomyr region.
“In the Berdichevsky district, residents of the regional center expressed their dissatisfaction with the material and technical support of military personnel at the pedestrian crossing of the road. Law enforcement officers at the scene ensured road safety and public order,” the department said.
According to the publication “News of Zhytomyr”, the protesters allowed emergency services to pass, while the rest of the transport was waiting for the end of the action.
The protesters said: at a time when people are collecting money to provide the Ukrainian army with everything necessary, soldiers are forced to fight without body armor.
Activists demanded that the regional leadership report on the funds spent, however, without waiting for regional officials, they unblocked the road. They They said: if within the next three days they do not receive a report and decisive action to support the Ukrainian military in the East, they will again block the roads.
As Navigator reported, earlier information appeared in the media that security forces in the ATO zone had to buy body armor at their own expense, and American dry rations never reached them.
