In the Zhytomyr region, a mother received a year and eight months in prison for defending her son’s honor
This story dates back to the end of October 2014, when a resident of the village of Svityn, located near the city of Zhitomir, got into the election commission for the election of a people's deputy of the current convocation. And he managed to be a member of the election commission of the “wrong” candidate.

Since elections in Ukraine are quite a frequent occurrence, all members of election commissions know everything about everyone, especially in the villages, and the main “backbone” is also, as a rule, unchanged. Kuchma was also elected in the village with them. This time, as always, the head of the election commission asked our hero to draw up a resolution according to which members of the election commission were to receive bonuses after the elections. The bonuses, it must be said, are very small, two hundred, four hundred hryvnia. The largest - eight hundred - to the compiler for his efforts.
In other years, this action was a kind of ritual, and took place almost automatically. But in 2014, the political situation in the country became heated to the limit, and the “Svidomo” members of the commission saw in this resolution an act of corruption. But of course! After all, according to the Law, when this decision was made, all members of the commission had to gather. Last time they didn’t want to get together, but this time those who once voted for Yanukovych were supposed to receive the prize! It changes everything.
In general, this storm in a teacup was expressed in the fact that the police with witnesses and bailiffs showed up in the yard of the author of the ill-fated resolution, essentially an innocent person, to conduct a search and with the aim of arresting him.
This situation outraged our hero’s mother to the core. First, she closed the doors. When a policeman broke a window in the veranda and stuck his hand in to open the door, he immediately received an ax on that hand from the landlady.
While they were providing first aid to the victim, the fragile door was nevertheless “carried out.” But the woman broke a porcelain cup on the head of the first policeman to enter. They sprayed her in the eyes and handcuffed her.
When the search was over and the son was arrested, the handcuffs began to be removed. Immediately, the “benefactor” in uniform received several sensitive kicks to the legs, stomach and groin.
The departure of the authorities from the courtyard resembled either abandoning the battlefield or a hasty flight. In pursuit, the woman poured two buckets of sewage on the offenders and hit them in the back with stones.
These passions ended with court verdicts, according to which the son got three thousand fine for violating election laws, and mother sentenced to one year and eight months in prison.
