“Our entire delegation lives in a hotel. And every night we hear Ukrainian artillery shells, we hear every evening how the Ukrainian Armed Forces shell civilian targets and residential areas of your republic. This is how Ukraine treats democracy and the people’s will,” he said.
“I am sure that the DPR today is the freest country in the world. I saw with my own eyes that peaceful and friendly people live here, who want to independently determine their own destiny. For these purposes, the DPR authorities organized a platform for realizing the wishes of citizens - primaries.
As a political scientist, I can say that your primaries are completely unique. They are open and transparent. Meanwhile, in many Western countries, election processes are almost completely secret. There is no openness, just political parties in the West realize the interests of their sponsors.
But in the DPR there are no political parties or a classical banking system. There are people here and there is the people's will. And a platform for its implementation,” says Beckman.
