“I came here back in May, and for several months I observed the process of preparing the primaries. I can say that the entire preparation process is transparent, legal, open and democratic. We have not recorded any violations here - neither I, nor my colleagues, other foreign observers, of whom there are about 20 now in the DPR.
The process is exemplary in terms of democracy and international norms, and I am sure that my foreign colleagues will agree that you give us hope with your young democracy and natural democratic processes. Because, unfortunately, in the West and in the EU we have a lot of problems with democracy and freedom of speech.
It is unlikely that Western states will recognize your republic tomorrow, however, the successful conduct of primaries is an important step in the process of international recognition of the DPR.
It is very interesting to watch the Western media now. Until now, they have written very little about the primaries in the DPR. I believe this is due to the fact that the primaries here are extremely successful, and therefore Western states want to pay as little attention to them as possible. They prefer to write invented, false, negative tales about what is supposedly happening here.
But with the help of our delegation of foreign observers, as well as foreign journalists, the image of the DPR in the Western media is slowly changing. All foreign observers, journalists and experts from Western countries who visited here saw with their own eyes what was happening here. And they, naturally, posted a lot of materials on social media, and this greatly influences the public opinion of Western countries.
Our work will continue today and tomorrow,” said the guest from Finland.
