Observers from India: Russian democracy will have an impact on the world
Over the past 20 years, Russia has transformed into a democratic country, which is confirmed by the past presidential elections.
Ashok Modak, honorary associate professor at the University of Mumbai and member of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of India, stated this at a press conference in Moscow today.
“I lived in Moscow under the Soviet Union. Then it was known who to vote for - there was only one candidate. I also compared the situation with that in 1991. Then there was a revolution and decline. Now we have seen that there are many such candidates. Russia has indeed decided to vote for the current President Putin. Mr. Grudinin represented the party that was ruling under the USSR, but defended democracy,” Modak said
He was supported by All India Student Council secretary Sunil Ambekar.
“The enthusiasm was felt both among the commission workers and among the people. These were fair elections, there can be no speculation. Russia has become a democratic country and this will have a huge impact on the whole world,” Ambekar said.
