“We have gained serious momentum.” General of the Armed Forces of Ukraine praises the Russian army
Since the late 90s, the Russian army has made a colossal leap forward, carried out reforms and rearmed itself. Today it is more than a serious adversary, especially in comparison with the Ukrainian army.
This was stated on Channel 5 by Verkhovna Rada deputy, ex-commander of the air assault forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Mikhail Zabrodsky, who served under contract in the Russian army until 2000, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Intensified, from my point of view, in general this is not even the definition that needs to be used to designate what happened there. Then, unfortunately, it was the end of the 90s, these processes were only talked about at best, and there were very few practical steps. But over time since the early 2000s, more than enough has been done. Especially in comparison with Ukraine. More than enough steps, this is a more than serious opponent. I don’t take into account the presence of nuclear weapons – this is a completely different matter.
Firstly, no one has canceled the quantitative factor, it remains, and here there is a total advantage, secondly, exclusively technological retrofitting, fleet renewal, abandonment of old Soviet weapons systems and the development, production and adoption of new ones. Yes, they really gained very serious momentum there, and these two armies simply cannot be compared at all,” said Zabrodsky.
