The National Bank of Poland reported this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
According to the Polish National Bank, in the third quarter of last year, foreigners transferred a total of 3,5 billion zlotys (842 million euros) abroad. This is PLN 1,7 billion more than during the same period last year.
The growth was due to an increase in remittances from short-term migrants. At the same time, the absolute majority of transfers - 91% - were made by Ukrainians.
“The geographical structure is dominated by transfers to Ukraine. They amounted to 3,2 billion zlotys (about 770 million euros), 91,0% of the total funds,” the bank said in a statement.
Earlier, the National Bank of Ukraine reported that Ukrainian citizens began to travel to Poland to work more often, but migration to Russia has decreased.
Over the past 4 years, the wages of Ukrainian migrant workers in Poland have more than tripled.
Recall as previously reported by PolitNavigator, in Kyiv it was calculated that the volume of remittances from Ukrainian labor migrants from abroad to their homeland is equal to 6% of the country’s GDP.
