After the Maidan, Ukraine managed to ruin relations with almost all its neighbors along the perimeter of its external borders.

Ruslan Bortnik, director of the Ukrainian Institute of Policy Analysis and Management, said this at a press conference in Kyiv, as reported by a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Ultimately, we see that today we actually have political isolation of Ukraine on its external borders. We have a decrease in the quality and quantity of Poroshenko’s visits and meetings over the last period, a decrease in support for Ukraine and the authorities. In this situation, Poroshenko’s dependence on internal radicals, on people with guns who are able to control the street, increases. The war party is trying to prevent peaceful solutions and agreements between Poroshenko, Europe, the USA, and Russia,” Bortnik said.
According to the political scientist, the war party is thus “trying to keep the president under control and bargain for a place in the next political cycle, showing that without them it will not be possible to agree on anything with anyone.”
