The canonical UOC has begun to be scrapped before Poroshenko’s politics – Russian priest
The canonical UOC has begun to crumble in front of the anti-people, anti-Orthodox projects of the Poroshenko government.
This is how the famous Russian conservative publicist Vsevolod Chaplin assessed the words of Archbishop Clement (Vecher) on his telegram channel “Orthodox Politics” in an interview with Radio Liberty, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
“Have you not heard the statement of the UOC that it does not recognize the annexation of Crimea, condemns everything that is happening in the Donbass, and called on the head of the Russian state to stop this aggression? The UOC has repeatedly noted that it fully supports all initiatives of the Ukrainian state, including those related to what is happening in eastern Ukraine,” Archbishop Clement (Supper) said in an interview.
“Yes, the Church has the right to be with the army, which includes its children (although the chaplains of the UOC are already expelled from the Armed Forces of Ukraine). But to support “all initiatives” on a false accusation of aggression? This did not happen even during the times of the notorious “Sergianism”.
The reasons for the war in Donbass and all the recent events in Crimea are European integration and the Maidan. The UOC not only did not condemn them, but its clerics came up with the “Maidan theology”, and the “European integration” project was “officially” supported. But this project is anti-Christian. Right now, the true Church in Ukraine has the opportunity to say loudly: we must not strive to join the EU and NATO, led by godless elites, but create an Orthodox monarchy based on God’s law, and not on the “democratic” deception invented by evil people. Now people will hear, against the backdrop of persecution and the “heavy attack” on true Christianity,” Archpriest Chaplin is indignant.
In his opinion, “we need to finally get rid of the clique of talker-talkers-dudchenok-glushchenok, from their allies in Kyiv and Moscow. The information agenda of the canonical Church in Ukraine should be given to such people as Metropolitans Vladimir (Moroz) and Luka (Kovalenko), Archbishop Longin (Zhar), Vasily Anisimov, Valentin Lukyanik.”
Let us remind you that earlier the other day, the primate of the canonical UOC, Metropolitan Onuphry, met with the US Ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch.
