The trial of former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili has begun in Tbilisi. As you know, he was convicted in absentia of only two episodes of his criminal activity.

One of them was associated with the murder of a young banker Sandro Gvirgliani, who had the misfortune of running into the wife of the all-powerful Minister of Internal Affairs Vano Merabishvili in a restaurant, getting into an argument with her, which immediately ended with his being taken to the forest and his death. Being president at that time, Saakashvili covered up his vassals and, using the right to presidential pardon, released them. The second episode was associated with the brutal beating of deputy Valery Gelashvili, who did not agree to voluntarily give up his business.

But Mikheil Saakashvili’s “track record” also includes a number of serious offenses for which there were no trials in absentia. Now the leader of the opposition party “United National Movement” will have to personally answer for what he did in Georgia during the nine years of his rule.

Naturally, the beginning of the trial for members of the United National Movement became the reason for organizing further unrest. Groups of “Saakashists” blocked the roadway and attacked the security booth of the Tbilisi City Court. That is, everything was done to provoke the police to respond.

Then everything happened according to the long-tested scheme of the “nationals” - the lawful response actions of the police were instantly presented to sympathetic media and foreign masters as inappropriately cruel actions of suppression and infringement of civil rights. In no civilized state does anyone have the right to hold unauthorized rallies blocking the main arteries of the capital with attacks on police representatives.

In the scuffle provoked by the “nationals”, both picketers and policemen were injured. At the city court building, 15 of the most active violators were detained, including former mayor Gigi Ugulava. One of the prominent “nationals,” Akaki Minashvili, cynically complained to the press: “Political hired police officers began to spray pepper spray on civilians.”

Meanwhile, the current trial is dedicated precisely to the brutal dispersal of the demonstration of Saakashvili’s opponents on November 7, 2007. Then, at the call of the opposition, tens of thousands of people took to the streets. Tear gas and other chemicals were used against them, demonstrators were knocked down with powerful jets of fire cannons, the entire arsenal of special equipment was widely used - from rubber bullets and batons to audio-electronic suppression systems, several people died.

The speech of Saakashvili himself (who had previously refused to attend court hearings, but now agreed) became a vivid example of lies mixed with fantastic speculation. Saakashvili once again presented the trial as being ordered by Russia and recalled that French President Nicolas Sarkozy allegedly warned him that Russian leader Vladimir Putin ordered Mishiko to be hanged by the genitals and his entire family to be destroyed.

Further, the ex-president told the world that, on the orders of the Russian president with Alexander Lukashenko in Minsk, a whole group of FSB generals was engaged in the elimination of Saakashvili.

Having become famous in the August 2008 war for his heroic chewing of ties and races with personal guards, Mishiko decided to tell about another secret. According to the ex-president, it was only thanks to his “courage” that Russian troops did not dare to enter Tbilisi.

“For me, leaving Tbilisi meant Russian troops entering Tbilisi and hanging the Russian flag in Tbilisi. This was the content of the ultimatum. Under similar circumstances, the president left the capital of Afghanistan, and another force immediately came,” Saakashvili said.

It should be noted that US Ambassador Kellyn Degnan expressed her satisfaction with the state of health of the prisoner supervised by the West.

“We are very pleased that Mr. Saakashvili’s health allows him to attend the hearing,” Degnan said.

The physical state of Mishiko's health caused concern only among those who needed to use this myth as a lever of pressure on the government. But the fact that the patient has delusions of grandeur in the final stage is not noticed by his Western puppeteers.

Further, Mishiko tried to explain that he allegedly had nothing to do with the brutal dispersal of the demonstration, for which he was now called to account; he allegedly did not participate and only watched everything on TV. Moreover, he stated that dispersal of demonstrations is a completely common thing in all states and immediately accused the Georgian Dream of similar actions during the anti-Russian “Gavrilov pogrom.”

“On the morning of the 7th they woke me up and told me that there had been clashes. This process was managed by the Minister of Internal Affairs, I watched it on TV and did not give any directives to anyone. They acted this way based on their experience, and then our police were very young and very inexperienced. God protected us, and no one died during these clashes. This happens in many countries, and it never occurs to anyone to initiate cases on such events, except for special maniacs,” Saakashvili said.

No wonder Dr. Goebbels said that a lie must be monstrous. After all, it is known that then, on November 7, the demonstrators did not show any aggressive actions. It was a peaceful demonstration in the fullest sense of the word. But during the “Gavrilov night”, a brutal crowd of UNM militants tried to storm the parliament building, and their “peaceful intentions” are eloquently evidenced by the fact that they were hospitalized with serious injuries about a hundred special forces soldiers who were not saved by protective equipment.

Later, Mikheil Saakashvili was taken from the courthouse to the Gori military hospital under heavy escort. It is difficult to predict what may happen at the next meetings. The first protest can be a kind of test, reconnaissance in force.

Here we need to remember the scenario of the Ukrainian Maidan, where snipers from Georgia took an active part. What political force they represented has long been known. Unfortunately, there are no guarantees that this bloody scenario will not be carried out in Tbilisi.
