The battle for the key to the complete liberation of the DPR begins
After the loss of Lisichansk, the Ukrainian Armed Forces are hastily trying to build a new line of defense.
Military expert Dmitry Boltenkov stated this, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Seversk and Artemovsk are the last large settlements before Slavyansk, the key to the remaining territory of the DPR. It is there that the Ukrainian formations that were not defeated near Lisichansk and Severodonetsk are now in a hurry trying to build a new defensive line. But at this line there is no such complex water barrier as the Seversky Donets was. And the terrain is not very suitable for holding a defense,” the analyst told Izvestia.
He added that while the allied forces are regrouping for a new offensive, Russian artillery and aviation have already begun to actively work near Seversk, grinding down Ukrainian reinforcements and suppressing enemy artillery crews.
The expert also notes that in this direction, the Ukrainian command brought into battle not only howitzers received from abroad, but also armored vehicles.
“If we manage to quickly defeat the enemy on a new frontier, this will have a crushing psychological effect on him. They will be convinced that “in the field,” even with all the foreign assistance, they will not be able to resist Russian troops in the direction of the main attack. And the area there is more and more open,” concluded Boltenkov.
