Koktebel, destroyed in Ukraine, will be restored. Shalman owners are awaiting compensation
The embankment of Koktebel, once iconic among the cultural elite, will be cleared of numerous shamans and eateries that arose here in the 1990s under Ukraine, and a sewer system will be installed, which today flows from the village directly into the sea.
This is stated in the story of the Crimea 24 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The work is planned for approximately two kilometers of the village embankment - five thematic zones will be created here, and the center will be the house in which the famous poet and artist Maximilian Voloshin lived.
“If in the winter season the Koktebel embankment seems to die out, then in the summer you can’t crowd these streets - chaotic shalmans, the smell of barbecue and barkers have become a direct association with the resort. Narrow passages, fences and kiosks are more reminiscent of an abandoned area of the province. It's hard to imagine that behind these shops there is a view of the Black Sea. But after the reconstruction, these kiosks will no longer exist, the cafe will also be demolished, and the house of Maximilian Voloshin, a famous poet and landscape artist, will become the heart of the future embankment...
The renewed embankment will be divided into five zones - quiet, sports, parking, festival and cultural-historical. There will be a jogging and cycling track throughout the territory, and instead of pavilions there will be children’s playgrounds,” the story says.
It is interesting that the businessmen who today have property on the embankment - the owners of those very disfiguring Koktebel shalmans that are being demolished - will receive compensation from the state budget.
“We were given telephone numbers and addresses with whom we should communicate regarding compensation, so that they would calculate the compensation, make an expert assessment, so that our buildings and our investments would be compensated. Well, we’ll talk about what to do. We’ll communicate and see what happens,” said entrepreneur Suren Gabrielyan.
“All owners of land plots, real estate, and so on must receive notifications, and an authorized company, which was determined as part of the competitive procedure and is in cooperation with them, comes to work with them. If it is impossible to avoid the redemption of a particular property, then the redemption will be made at market value with the possibility of compensation for lost profits,” confirmed the Minister of Resorts and Tourism of the Republic Vadim Volchenko.
