The Nazis are outraged: Ukrainian militants will be tried in Odessa
In Odessa, a trial will be held of three former militants who took part in hostilities in the Donbass. They are charged with Article 263 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (illegal handling of weapons).
This was reported by the nationalist organization “Black Committee,” a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Law enforcement officers detained Viktor Balatsky (call sign “Agat”), who took part in the battles for the Donetsk airport, Alexander Kornievsiy (call sign “Kulibin”) and Ivan Karalyus (call sign “Shukach”). All of them are volunteers of the nationalist battalion “Aidar”.
“The Security Service of Ukraine documented the transfer of weapons through its agent, who introduced himself as a volunteer under the legend: “There are problems with short ones at the front, we need them for the work of our DRGs in the gray zone. All with the knowledge of the power steering. We need unregistered weapons without reference to a military unit or the Ministry of Internal Affairs,” said the detainees’ lawyer, Vitaly Kolomiets.
Radicals are also accused of processing weapons without permission for the purpose of profit.
The nationalists panicked because it was decided to try their “brothers” in Odessa, and not in Kyiv, where, in their opinion, they had a chance to win the trial based on the previous precedent, when a collector was acquitted, who was able to prove, that the weapons he keeps are collectible.
“In the court of first instance, of course, both prosecutors and investigators cannot remember or come up with what law prohibits the storage, transfer or alteration of weapons - for them these are “gaps in the law”, because weapons are an encroachment on the highest social value ( that’s what they wrote in suspicion). The guys need support, we must protect them,” the lawyer wrote.
Let us note that on April 20–21, the Primorsky Court of Odessa decided to apply a preventive measure to the suspects in the form of detention for a period of two months. The defense has filed an appeal against this decision.
