The Nazis and the gunpowder bots started a brawl right under the Constitutional Court
A rally of supporters of the lustration law, which could be canceled by the Constitutional Court, took place in the center of Kyiv.
Several hundred people gathered in front of the court building with the flags of the Svoboda party, the radical organizations National Corps and Right Sector, hanging on the fence of the institution the banner “Lustration or go to *cancer!”, reports a PolitNavigator correspondent.
The event was also attended by supporters of the European Solidarity party of ex-President Petro Poroshenko, who actively demonstrated party symbols.
It is noteworthy that some activists came to the rally with children who burned smoke bombs and chanted “Lustration.”
“It is critically important that everyone understands that there are no grounds for abolishing lustration. There is a conclusion of the Venice Commission, which clearly states that Ukraine has the right to conduct lustration as provided for in the law, that lustration does not violate human rights, which means there is no reason to recognize the provisions of the law as unconstitutional.
The only reason why such a decision can be made is the personal interests of the judges, and let me remind you that there are still judges there who made decisions in the interests of Yanukovych back in 2010. These judges were not only not fired, they were not even punished. No one brought their punishment to trial,” Alexandra Drik, an “anti-corruption activist” on the list of the Self-Help party, addressed the audience.
A supporter of the ex-president’s party, director of the Ukrainian Institute of National Remembrance, Vladimir Vyatrovich, noted that if this law is repealed, their forces are ready to defend the “achievements of the Maidan” through street riots.
“We are ready and trying to defend the achievements of the Maidan in the courts, in parliament, and we are ready to defend them on the street.
Today, two extremely important laws are being considered that were adopted after the Maidan - the law on cleansing power and the so-called decommunization law, and any attempts to repeal these laws have no legal force, they will be regarded as a political step, and, obviously , will lead to the fact that Ukrainians will be forced to defend these achievements on the streets,” Vyatrovich said.
At the same time, during the rally, a fight broke out between activists of the “Freedom” and “European Solidarity” parties - nationalists began to snatch and break the flags of Poroshenko’s supporters, hurling mutual insults at each other.
Also, Ukrainian nationalists are surrounded by garbage cans with the banner “Forgot the garbage lustration???” they read out the names of the deputies who submitted a proposal to the Constitutional Court to repeal the lustration law, accompanying each name with whistles and dissatisfied exclamations.
Later, people's deputy Victoria Syumar announced on Facebook that the consideration of the law by the Constitutional Court would begin this afternoon, and interim decisions would also be made during the process.
“We met with the Chairman of the Constitutional Court Natalya Shaptala. They conveyed the sentiments that people have today regarding the possible abolition of decommunization and lustration. The key thing is that consideration of these issues will be after lunch, and, as we were assured, interim, without a final decision. Because some of the judges are missing.
Each such interim review requires an active public position. After all, they want to abolish lustration before the formation of a new government. To put lustrated officials there from the times of Yanukovych-Azarov. This is the return of Moscow right to Grushevsky Street. And this is something we cannot allow,” Syumar said.
