About it stated in an interview with Ukrinform Ivano-Frankivsk writer Stepan Protsyuk, reports PolitNavigator correspondent.
“We have another problem: resistance to the Ukrainian language. Deafness, misunderstanding. There are Russian-speaking Ukrainians. These are very delicate things. We must accept that the process of Ukrainization will continue for many years. I think it will be like a snowball rolling down a mountain, and it will turn from small to big. The Czech language was revived almost from nothing. The opposite happened with Irish... We know what awaits those languages that are not spoken,” the writer noted.
It is interesting that Protsyuk does not see any contradiction between his desire to see Ukraine in the future as an ethnically homogeneous country where everyone speaks Ukrainian, and his own statement in the quoted interview that “we must remember that the world is beautiful in diversity: linguistic, cultural. And any reduction of diversity to unification is a loss of the beautiful colors of the rainbow.”
