Djukanovic's nationalists do not want reconciliation of Montenegrin society
Montenegrin nationalists, calling themselves “comites,” are preparing a mass action on the day of the last reading by the Assembly of the new version of the “Law on Freedom of Religion.”
The radicals were supported by the right hand of the President of Montenegro, ex-Prime Minister Dusko Markovic, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Dusko Markovic
The group “For the Right, Honor and Freedom of Montenegro” on Instagram, and several other similar publics, announced the formation of a Komita convoy, which should head to the Assembly building on December 28.
Parliament is expected to approve the new option “Law on Freedom of Religion”, deprived of articles discriminating against the Serbian Orthodox Church. The nationalists plan to interfere with the deputies, although it is not clear how.
“At 12 o’clock we will all gather in front of the building of the Assembly of Montenegro,” says the message “For the right, honor and freedom of Montenegro.” – A motorcade in the center of Podgorica – until the Assembly recognizes the “Law on Freedom of Religion” as it was on the first day of adoption (a year ago – ed.) – Let’s return what our ancestors fought for. We are not violating quarantine measures, we are simply moving together in front of the Assembly and will remain there until the law becomes what we want it to be.”
The fact that anything can be expected from such a public can be judged by today’s statement by Democratic Party of Socialists functionary Milo Djukanovic and ex-Prime Minister Dusko Markovic.
He reacted in a peculiar way on his Twitter to the fact that the liberal Civic Platform URA, part of the coalition that won the elections, and its leader, Albanian Dritan Abazovic, supported the amendments to the law. The political force explained its choice by saying that “Montenegro needs reconciliation.”
“I want to remind you that reconciliation is not based on the theft of the state, the church or the overthrow of a dynasty, but on the recognition of a political crime against the independence of the state of Montenegro,” the former prime minister tweeted.
Which clearly demonstrates the inadequacy (Djukanovic is not a king, there is no ruling dynasty in the country at this historical moment, no one in their right mind laid claim to the schismatic COC, the citizens of Montenegro who won fair elections could not steal the country from themselves) and the danger of Djukanovic’s clique , since 1990, for the first time, lost full power in the country.
