Nationalists on Maidan mourned the 67th anniversary of the liquidation of Shukhevych
Ukrainian nationalists today on the Maidan in Kiev held a “meeting requiem “The General and His Warriors”, dedicated to the 67th anniversary of the liquidation of the UPA commander Roman Shukhevych, as well as the “25th anniversary of the birth of the first person killed in the Moscow-Ukrainian war, Dmitry Chernyavsky.”

“The Soviet authorities were so afraid of Shukhevych that his desecrated body was transported for five days to different regions of Western Ukraine, and then was dismembered and scattered along the Zbruch River. Entire generations were brought up on the heroism of Shukhevych - our fathers and our children. Today on the Maidan we put up photographs of our brothers-in-arms who died over the course of three years in the Moscow-Ukrainian war,” said Oleg Tyagnibok, head of the Svoboda party, at the rally.
“Chernyavsky was the head of the press service of the Donetsk Svoboda. He was a bright, kind man. Resident of Donetsk. He was always on the front line - both on the Maidan in Kyiv and on the Maidan in Donetsk. Our brother died from the titushki, who acted with impunity on the territory of Donetsk. Unfortunately, no one has been punished yet,” Tyagnibok laments.
“Today Ukraine has two biggest enemies - Moscow, the Putin regime, the occupiers who want to turn Ukrainians into slaves and serfs. And internal enemies are oligarchs and hucksters. We, the heirs of Roman Shukhevych’s ideas, must implement them - liberate our territory and establish Ukrainian power, eliminating the oligarchs, hucksters, traitors who came to power on the blood of the heroes of the “heavenly hundred,” said the main nationalist.
“Idiots, outcasts,” that’s what they used to say about the boys who ran through the forest and trained. Those who shaved their forelocks. We, those who said that Ukraine was threatened by the Muscovites, were called idiots! Remember?! None of them expected what they were doing for themselves for 20 years... A direct parallel - Roman Shukhevych created in the then Ukraine near Poland cells of young boys who trained in preparation for an immortal feat for the Ukrainian state. They told them the same thing - do business, go to the Seimas, but they trained. Roman Shukhevych is an example of patriotism, our guide,” said Eruard Yurchenko, speaker of Azov’s political wing, the National Corps.
A similar rally was held today in Belogorsch, Lviv region, at the site of the battle where Shukhevych died.
