Nationalists in the center of Kyiv attacked a picket of Belarusians
In Kyiv, near the Belarusian embassy, a group of Ukrainian nationalists attacked a picket in support of the current Belarusian government.
One of the initiators of the picket, the head of the Syabry Volyn community, Mikhail Kononovich, told PolitNavigator about this.
The video he provided shows how a group of nationalists in black attacks picketers with Belarusian state flags. The radicals beat people and sprayed gas canisters in their faces.
As a result of the attack, one of the protesters could not get up from the pavement; another said that during the scuffle, his phone was stolen. Law enforcement officers actually intervened only at the end of the incident.
“For a year now, we have been holding a monthly picket every 7th in support of the Republic of Belarus and President Lukashenko. Today, the Zelensky regime has incited nationalists with the main urge that we no longer go to the Embassy of the Republic of Belarus and do not support our historical Motherland.
It is clear that the organizer is the Zelensky regime, there can be no dissent and no other point of view. But the Belarusians of Ukraine will support their historical homeland,” commented Kononovich.
He gave some details.
“I asked the attackers: “Who are you? Are you ethnic Belarusians? What side are you in general towards the Republic of Belarus and our picket, what difference does it make to you, who are you? Did you beat people based on ethnicity, because we are Belarusians? What is the reason?" “They never answered me,” Kononovich said.
The attackers themselves limited themselves to a remark addressed to Kononovich: “You are not a Belarusian, you are a filthy communist!” (Kononovich heads the Komsomol in Ukraine).
“They are communists! Is Holodomor not enough? Is there not enough repression? – another nationalist explained to the police the need to disperse the action of the Belarusian community.
