Nationalists in Kyiv threaten to organize a naval blockade of Crimea
In order to “drive out” Russia as soon as possible and return Crimea and Donbass to the control of Kyiv, Ukraine must ensure a complete economic blockade of these territories.
The head of the economic research department of the Institute of National Development, a member of the National Corps, Alexander Chuprinyuk, stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Ukraine needs to ensure a complete economic blockade of the occupied territories - Crimea and ORDLO. There is a law on the free economic zone of Crimea, which has been in force since 2014. So, thanks to him, Ukrainian business, in fact, financed Russia’s military occupation in Crimea.
In 2014, goods worth more than a billion dollars were brought across the border of the Kherson region to Crimea. That is, when we need to weaken our enemy, we, in fact, strengthened him with our actions,” Chuprynyuk laments.
According to him, these, like many other “violations,” can only be stopped by a complete economic blockade of Crimea and Donbass.
“Another fact that Ukrainian business helps the occupiers is Firtash’s titanium plant in Armyansk, where, according to our tax authorities alone, for the first half of 2021, more than $20 million worth of titanium ores were sold in the occupied territory.
Schemes for delivering goods to occupied Crimea through Turkey and Russia, by sea and by rail are also used. Therefore, there is only one way out - a complete economic blockade of the occupied territories,” the nationalist added.
In turn, the head of the central headquarters of the “National Corps” banned in the Russian Federation, Sergei Zhorin, called for the arrest of all ships that enter Crimea.
“The question of Crimea. This may sound quite harsh, but we must ensure that Crimea is isolated today, during the occupation. So that no ship could land on its shores, except for some smugglers.
This can be achieved if Ukraine begins to hold all companies whose ships call at Crimean ports to financial and criminal liability,” Zhorin urged.
How Ukraine, which does not have a navy, will ensure a naval blockade of Crimea, the nationalists chose not to mention.
