A resident of Nadvirna, Mikhail Andreevich, wrote about this on his Facebook page.
At the same time, the author of the post, a Ukrainian nationalist, wrote the words “Great Patriotic War” in quotation marks.
“Last week there was a knock on the door of Nadvirna resident Mr. Andrusyak. It turned out that one of the courier mail services delivered to him “personally” a certain Putin medal “70 Years of Victory”. The 89-year-old veteran actually took part in the final battles of the Great Patriotic War. In the post-war years, he worked in the Ministry of Internal Affairs - for a long time he was a local police officer in one of the most crime-prone villages in the Nadvirnyansky district. He retired with the rank of captain. There are now less than a dozen real participants in the “Great Patriotic War” left in the Nadvirnyansky district. Why the “Putin medal” went to Mr. Andrusyak is a rhetorical question,” the note says.
Judging by the reservation about veteran Andrusyak’s work in the post-war years as a district police officer in “one of the most crime-prone villages in the region,” and his retirement with the rank of captain of the Soviet police, it can be assumed that the 89-year-old veteran fought against the bandit Bandera underground, which was then active in the Carpathian region .
