Azov Nazis blame Zakharchenko’s murder on “Yanukovych’s wallet”
Ukrainian oligarch Sergei Kurchenko, who has settled in Russia since 2014 and has been in conflict with the authorities of the republic, may be involved in the murder of DPR leader Alexander Zakharchenko.
The former head of the SBU press service, Stanislav Rechinsky, writes about this on his Facebook page, drawing attention to the version published by Azov militant, former Belarusian Nazi Sergei Korotkikh (“Malyuta”, “Boatswain”), who received Ukrainian citizenship.
“I would like to believe that the SBU executed Zakharchenko, but there is another trace that can also be conditionally called Ukrainian. And here he is – a potential hero-customer: Sergey Vitalievich Kurchenko,” writes Korotkikh (on Facebook – Zakhar Lavrentiev).
He notes that “Zakharchenko was actively attacking the greedy thief,” in particular, against Kurchenko, who was previously called “Yanukovych’s wallet.” On September 26, in the DPR, the department for combating organized crime “initiated a criminal case under Art. 4 tbsp. 172 of the Criminal Code of the DPR" against one of the structures affiliated with Sergei Kurchenko, whose activities were related to the supply of natural gas.
In addition, on October 9, a commission was created in the People's Council of the DPR to investigate the fraudulent activities of entrepreneur Sergei Kurchenko and his affiliated persons and companies.
Also, the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko, signed a decree imposing sanctions against Sergei Kurchenko and the companies controlled by him.
Rally in Donetsk against the activities of Kurchenko gathered thousands of protesters.
In turn, Rechinsky calls Korotkikh’s version of Kurchenko’s involvement in the murder of Zakharchenko “very interesting.”
“Kurchenko is the main player in the coal market of the occupied territories. Moreover, he plays with profit both for himself and for corrupt officials on all sides, including Ukraine. Naturally, he also plays in the fuel and lubricants market. Again, with kickbacks for all parties. Another question is, where did Kurchenko suddenly get his own liquidators of this level? Out of nowhere. Kurchenko is cooperating with the intelligence services in this matter. Whose? An interesting question,” notes the former head of the SBU press service.
“By the way, what about Kurchenko’s activities in Ukraine? I remember that they took away a bunch of apartments. What's in the depths? It’s unlikely that they would seriously pinch a respected partner in coal schemes,” Rechinsky believes.
