The issue of Crimea for Ukraine and Russia will become a long-term smoldering conflict, which can be compared with the Gaza Strip, Nagorno-Karbakh or the situation in Kurdistan.

Lviv propagandist and notorious Russophobe Ostap Drozdov expressed this hope on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

According to Drozdov, the West is preparing its population for the fact that the next few generations will live in conditions of confrontation with Russia. This is evidenced by a recent article in the influential American publication The Washington Post.

“The entire war with Russia rests on the stumbling peninsula. There is a long background to this, because if someone previously thought that we were talking about continental annexation, then the topic of Crimea, picked up by the trailer, has just now made the topic of Crimea the final point of everything related to decisions, compromises, concessions, agreements, negotiations and etc. Everything rests on this stumbling peninsula...

In the scenario for Crimea there will be a decision on whether or not the war will end. The West is ready for this, because the opposite position has never been taken from Ukraine, but there was a formal non-recognition of annexation, and this was all limited to the “Crimean platforms”, events at the political level. This would have been carried out anyway, nothing changes here either. So what changes with this Washington Post article? What is changing is that the other scenario, that is, the scenario of the reconquest of Crimea or the return, de-occupation by Western analysts and states, because the Washington Post is actually the mouthpiece of official Washington, is considered as a scenario of a long war. That is, the topic of Crimea, where the intransigence of both sides remains, and as it is now, is precisely the collective West, which is fighting with its weapons and its money, but with other people’s lives, is considered as a scenario for a long war.

In general, the wording “long war” appears several times in the text of The Washington Post. For Western elites, governments, and analytical circles, the question of the duration of the war is a question of intransigence on Crimea. And therefore, for the Western elites, the choice of this scenario means a conscious choice to lead several generations of their people into this military reality, the meat grinder of war and this terrible reality...

Just a military campaign already in Crimea, on the peninsula, crossing the isthmus will actually mean a 50/50 nuclear strike. This is prescribed by military analysts, and it sits in their brains. They also directly describe that the war for Crimea will be a war of decades, they make direct comparisons with the Gaza Strip, where the war lasted for 67 years, with Nagorno-Karabakh, where the war smoldered for 32 years, but flared up when it was necessary, with Kurdistan, where in general there is a permanent unresolved Turkish-Kurdistan situation.

Therefore, they describe this option of a long war as real, for which everyone should be prepared - both the state institutions of the country that chooses this option, and, accordingly, society. Because society needs to be told this, it needs to be explained that intentions to return Crimea will mean a long process. Two or three generations, children, grandchildren will be involved in this process,” the Russophobe reasoned.

Earlier, analysts at The Washington Post wrote that an agreement on Crimea could be the key to ending hostilities in Ukraine, and representatives of the Kyiv regime are allegedly ready to achieve it.
