Do you know why the Nazis persecuted the magnificent artist Nonna Grishaeva? Because, unlike the exaggerated stars who come from Odessa, reminiscent of cooperative products from the 80s, when the outside is bronze and the inside is plastic, Grishaeva is real, and people in Odessa really love her.

Because honestly, openly, without moralizing and grumbling, she declares that she loves the USSR and her Soviet childhood, she states it as it is - that in Odessa they never spoke Ukrainian, and older people suffer when they read instructions for medicines in the language or trying to get a pension from a Ukrainian-speaking cashier.

He announces to a huge audience about the murderer Sternenko, who feels like a celestial being in Ukraine, declares that he is included in the “Peacemaker” database and “well-wishers” promised to burn her immediately upon arrival at the Odessa airport...

Did any of the narrow-minded “celebrities”, born in Odessa, but who left for Moscow, who, it must be said, are also being bullied by professional Ukrainians, say something similar? And okay - I’ll encroach on the sacred, without belittling his talent and merits, but did the same Mikhail Zhvanetsky during his lifetime at least once clearly speak out about the tragedy of May 2?..

You know, no matter what primitive qualities they endow Odessa with - arrogance, dialect, humor, vulgarity - all this is far from the truth, but if there is a certain archetypal Odessa woman, then it is she - Nonna.

What she did wrong in front of the barnyard this time is not entirely clear. Grishaeva’s entry into Ukraine was banned back in 2017 for touring in Crimea - they banned it themselves, but they are trying to get hold of it. Apparently, she was guilty of saying, which was correct by the way, that she had stopped cooperating with Quartet I, known for its anti-Russian position.

“They say that there is nothing more to write for me, they say, I have already played everything for them a long time ago. It's a pity. Because then, when we played together and also took part in performances, we worked great. It’s always nice to work with friends,” she said.

Note, nothing seditious, although it is clear that she cannot be on the same side of the barricades with “friends” who have embraced pacifism, whose parents in Odessa are collecting money for body armor for the Armed Forces of Ukraine. But this can only be guessed by watching a number of interviews with Nonna.

Or you can set a goal - to blind the enemy. As MP with reduced social responsibility Alexey Goncharenko did for a stubborn audience, for some reason he dug up Nonna’s interview with Vyacheslav Manucharov in 2020. Goncharenko recorded a video, which he called “an important blog about the war on the cultural front and people who betrayed their own homeland.” He included Grishaeva among these.

“A famous actress who was born in Odessa and says that Odessa is her home, but she lives in Russia. I tried for a long time to sit on two chairs, but in the end I made a choice. A year ago, she gave an interview in which she said a bunch of nonsense about how someone is infringing on the Russian language in Ukraine, about the fraternal people,” Goncharenko was indignant, as if what was said was not true.

And what angered him and the hangers-on most of all was the following fragment of Grishaeva’s interview:

“When they ask me questions like this: where am I from - from Ukraine or from Russia - I immediately begin to feel like a little girl in the courtroom when my parents are divorcing. They ask, who do you want to live with - dad or mom? And I love both dad and mom. I love both Ukraine and Russia. And don’t ask me, these are my parents, and let “mom” be wrong about something, or “dad” be wrong. But I love them both.

And I am absolutely sure that peace will come anyway, and we will still unite and little by little relations will be restored. I'm tired of screaming about it. Some people don’t hear, others suffer... There are many Ukrainians in Russia with Russian passports, and there are many Russians in Ukraine with Ukrainian ones. Who should they feel like? We are simply one people, we are intertwined in such a way that we cannot be torn apart, there are no nations closer. Brothers!

Let me remind you again - the interview was recorded two years ago.

But here’s what Goncharenko concluded:

“She turns on the fool so beautifully in this interview... She couldn’t choose [Ukraine or Russia], but in the end she did. Rockets flew into her hometown, destroying children and adults... Not a word that she condemns what is happening. During the bombing of Odessa, I posted a photo from Volgograd at the monument “The Motherland Calls!” Russian money turned out to be stronger.”

And away!

“Don’t let traitors like Grishaev into Ukraine ever!” cried Goncharenko’s flock.

Other patriotic publics also posted videos behind him, also coming to the conclusion that “Grishaeva is working off Putin’s money.”

Obviously, the attack on the artist is due to the fact that Odessa has been ordered to create the image of a rural Ukrainian city with all its might, and Grishaeva spoils this image with her intelligence and sincerity, for some reason she does not come to interviews in an embroidered shirt, and speaks openly about forced Ukrainization. And all the same, the victim was by no means chosen accurately - she is too positive and loved by the audience for sane people to listen to Goncharenkov’s bark.

Things are really bad for professional patriots if they attack a popular actress who, in fact, spoke in a feminine, philistine way and without politics.

And, yes, Goncharenko, about the fraternal people - this was not something Putin came up with at all, but this is how you were taught at school in your Soviet childhood, when you still didn’t dare to think about becoming a Nazi. But this was a political moment.

And then there is the human one. Fighting with a woman is rock bottom in itself. But I would like to remind such “heroes” that a year ago, on City Day, the mayor of Odessa Gennady Trukhanov recorded Utesov’s song “By the Black Sea.” I recorded it together with Russian artists, among whom was Nonna Grishaeva (yes, by that time that same interview had already been published a year ago).

And also in this company, a “gift” from Servant of the People, ex-candidate for mayor Oleg Filimonov from the “Gentleman Show”, now a deputy of the City Council, sang. So they would have been asked how it was for them to sing together with the participant in “The Peacemaker”? And get closer to them. And we would talk like men. And so - yapping at a person who is unlikely to stoop to answering riffraff is a win-win and simple thing. And still insignificant. But what else can you expect from a nonentity?
