Kyiv, November 22 (Navigator, Vladimir Mikhailov) - The “fifth column” contributed to the fact that the Ukrainian market was captured by Russian information products, rather than Ukrainian ones, says the head of the National Expert Commission on the Protection of Morality, Vasil Kostitsky.

He stated this at the international conference “Baltic-Black Sea Region: Socio-Political Current Issues.”

“Ukrainian films, theatrical art, book printing and other products could not take their rightful place in the market due to various reasons, including tax obstacles, because, probably, the “fifth column” interfered with this. The Ukrainian information market has been captured by Russian products. We conducted a study in 2013 and found out that out of almost 200 television series, 114 TV shows, 64 cartoons, 40 educational programs, about 70% of the products were made in Russia.”

In addition, in the early 90s, when the Iron Curtain fell and products from all over the world poured into our information market, the products of Western Europe and the USA were discredited, says Vasil Kostitsky.

It was Russian TV series that had a fatal effect on the Ukrainian brain, he is sure. Such products, “based on violence, the imposition of such standards as the glorification of corruption, the promotion of an alcoholic lifestyle, have become the norm for information processing of the Ukrainian brain. We fought against corruption, against the negative image of Ukraine, which today ranks 144th in terms of corruption out of 177 countries. On the other hand, the heroes of these series constantly beat, kill, take bribes and even solve charitable issues with bribes.

In addition, there was total propaganda of attacks on the national symbols of Ukraine, the formation of a disrespectful attitude towards Ukrainian national symbols, the formation of disbelief in the capabilities of Ukraine, the formation of an inferiority complex,” he believes.

This is why censorship in the information field of Ukraine is justified, Vasyl Kostitsky is sure. According to him, 59% of Ukrainians began to demand that the state introduce moral censorship.
