"National Corps" celebrated the Ukrainian holiday with a fight with the police
In the Cherkasy region, Ukrainian nationalists and former participants in the punitive operation in Donbass fought with the police, as a result of which six radicals were detained.
The brawl occurred before an event with the participation of Ukrainian President Zelensky dedicated to raising the Ukrainian flag in honor of the national flag and independence day, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Nationalists and “atoshniks”, under the leadership of the National Corps group previously sponsored by former head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, arrived at the site to ask the president several questions about “surrender” and his inappropriate attitude towards “veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war.”
The radicals turned on the audio equipment and behaved provocatively, so a clash with the police was most likely a matter of time.
After a short scuffle, law enforcement officers detained six nationalists and took them to the city of Shpola, but after a few hours the violators were released.
The leader of the National Corps, Andrei Biletsky, reacted angrily to the incident.
"Glory to Ukraine! About the situation that occurred in the morning between Mr. Zelensky and veterans of the Russian-Ukrainian war during the opening of the national flag in the geographical center of Ukraine - Cherkasy region, near the city of Shpola. The background is this: a few days ago, some veterans of the Cherkassy region stated that they want to take part in this event and ask several questions to Mr. Zelensky regarding the unpleasant situation regarding the veteran community and his policy regarding Donbass in general.
All documents were submitted officially, but yesterday the press began, when the police and the SBU began calling the guys, saying that they would not let anyone in and would detain everyone, that this event was exclusively for Zelensky, and no one invited them there,” said Biletsky in his video message.
According to him, everyone began to gather in the morning.
“It was difficult, many did not make it because all the roads were blocked, cars were detained, several people actually walked to the scene. There they were surrounded by a large number of police, or let's be honest - cops. These “red caps”, who are the same police officers as the “golden eagle” on the Maidan. The cops behaved impudently, but the impudence turned into aggression at the very second when Mr. Zelensky appeared. Then they rushed at the guys, broke the pump that stood there, detained many people, then released some of them there, and took four veterans to Shpola, where they were also released, because there was no reason for detention,” the Nazi added.
It also follows from his complaints that after the resignation of the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs Arsen Avakov, the police felt impunity.
“The police, feeling impunity, realizing that now the vertical of power is entirely Zelensky, that in addition to Zelensky’s police officers there is Zelensky’s prosecutor, Zelensky’s SBU and Zelensky’s National Security and Defense Council. There is a feeling of impunity and this leads to the fact that they very quickly turn into the same “Berkut”. I don’t think this will lead to anything serious, because who’s afraid of them? In reality, the “Berkut” on the Maidan looked much more threatening, and the majority of Ukrainians had no experience of either the Maidan or the war, but now they do,” Biletsky threatened.
