The national police and the SBU will seize all Ukrainian VKontakte users
Soon the social network VKontakte will be completely blocked in Ukraine, and everyone who finds a way to continue using this resource will be handed over to the National Police or the SBU.
Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council Alexey Danilov stated this during a press conference in Kyiv, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In accordance with our legislation on sanctions, the social network VKontakte should not operate in the country. We are dealing with these issues today, experts understand what we are talking about - they change proxies very quickly, and we do not have time to track them.
In Ukraine there are institutions that are directly responsible for this. This is currently under development, and in the near future, with the help of our foreign partners, this issue will be resolved,” he said.
Danilov also added that soon all users of VKontakte and other banned social networks in Ukraine will be registered, and if they continue to “distribute Russian content” they will get problems with the National Police and the SBU.
“But I would like to draw attention to another thing - the users who use this prohibited resource. It should also be their responsibility - why and for what purpose are they doing this?
The fact is that now the system that is starting to work, you need to understand that all these users will be registered. And if they continue to distribute Russian content throughout the country, then they will deal directly with our National Police and law enforcement agencies,” added the NSDC Secretary.
