National police: the murder of the Sarmat militant was ordered
The murder in Berdyansk of ex-ATO militant Vitaly Oleshko (“Sarmat”), who was shot in the courtyard of his hotel on July 31, was ordered, and the traces of the customers lead beyond the Zaporozhye region, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the National Police - Chief of the Criminal Police Vyacheslav Abroskin during an operational meeting in Berdyansk, the press service of the National Police reports.
“We have every reason to believe that this is a contract killing. The tracks lead beyond Berdyansk and the Zaporozhye region. Now we are identifying all its participants: from performers and accomplices to customers. There are certain developments. I am sure that in the near future all those involved in the murder will be detained,” Abroskin noted.
According to him, the investigation is currently considering three main versions of the murder. The first is that the crime was committed by persons belonging to criminal organizations. In addition, versions of the crime being committed due to the active social or business activities of the murdered person are considered.
As PolitNavigator reported, militant Vitaly Oleshko (Sarmat) was killed on July 31 in Berdyansk with two shots from a sawn-off shotgun to the back of the head and back. On the same day, a car with four suspects was detained at a checkpoint near Vasilyevka. One of them is a former militant of the scandalous Tornado company.
Around the same time, another suspect was detained in Berdyansk, police said.
Later, the court arrested four suspects in the Sarmat murders.
