This is stated in the story of Hromadske TV.
According to the National Council, the management and staff of the TV channel are under pressure from the Crimean authorities, but remain “the only one who objectively covers the events in Crimea.”
“In fact, there is information isolation of Crimea. The TV channel's editorial staff at the head office in Simferopol notes that it is under pressure from the authorities. The National Council appeals to providers with a request to consider the possibility of supporting the local broadcaster and adding ATR to the list of rebroadcast channels,” the story says.
As Yuriy Artemenko, head of the National Council for Television and Radio Broadcasting, said at a briefing, the decision to rebroadcast ATR was made after public hearings.
“We met with representatives of the Crimean Tatar channel ATR. This TV channel is now in difficult conditions. Its investors, representatives of the Crimean Tatar people, now work in Moscow. Imagine how difficult it is for them to work there and be investors in such a channel. They wanted us to bring information about this channel to providers. This channel is ready to provide its content for free. Some providers have already added it to their list. Now we can receive information about Crimea first-hand,” said Yuri Artemenko.
