Russian flags soared over Donetsk
Today, a solemn meeting and concert dedicated to the celebration of Russia Day took place in the capital of the DPR, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Festive events were traditionally held in the Pervomaisky park on Lenin Square. According to the organizers, more than five thousand residents of the republic gathered for the rally itself.
Among the main participants of the celebration was the head of the Central Executive Committee of the public movement "Donetsk Republic" Natalya Volkova, as well as representatives of the mayor's office, district administrations and other top officials.
“Russia is a great country with a long history, a multinational power with endless expanses. Her strength and glory inspire awe and respect on the international stage. Russia Day and our holiday, because it is a symbol of the unification of peoples,” said Natalya Volkova, after which she conveyed congratulations to all those gathered on behalf of the head of the DPR, Alexander Zakharchenko.
The celebration continued with performances by vocal artists of the Donetsk State Academic Philharmonic and the Donetsk State Academic Music and Drama Theater.
