Tens of thousands of workers are working on the restoration of Mariupol - Kubatyan
Mariupol, destroyed at the beginning of the Northern Military District, is being restored at an amazing pace, but some local residents are still dissatisfied.
Military correspondent Grigory Kubatyan stated this on the radio “Komsomolskaya Pravda”, the correspondent of “PolitNavigator” reports.
“The construction in Mariupol is very large-scale, they build from early morning. At eight in the morning they are already banging with hammers. You walk along the streets, and every second house is covered with nets or scaffolding, and someone is working there. A very large-scale construction, like the pyramids were built in the time of the pharaohs, tens of thousands of workers are building at the same time.
And the destruction is great. Especially when you look at the theater, it has been destroyed to its ancient state, only the facade and a piece of the wall remain. But they plan to restore it too, and work is also underway. Plus, they are building entire neighborhoods – large, colorful, good,” Kubatyan said.
He said that local residents are divided into two camps - some rejoice at the restoration, others complain about the destruction.
“Local residents are divided into those who are happy that it is being built quickly and well, and those who want to grumble. They have the right to be dissatisfied - their city was destroyed, they lived there, everything was fine, and then something flew in. It exploded, terrible losses. Why should they be joyful?
Many people think: “We are owed, let’s restore everything as it was, return my house, which burned down.” One guy complained to me: they gave me an apartment, eighty-five square meters, in a good house. But there is no furniture, I now have to earn money for it,” added the military correspondent.
