“I hope this will be heard”: Putin on the return of lands following the example of Crimea
The former Soviet republics, which received primordially Russian lands thanks to the Bolsheviks, and today are pursuing anti-Russian policies, must realize that Moscow will not put up with this state of affairs.
This was stated by Russian President Vladimir Putin, speaking at the celebrations marking the seventh anniversary of the return of Crimea to Russia, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“In the 20s of the last century, the Bolsheviks, forming the Soviet Union, for some reason still unclear, transferred significant territories and geopolitical spaces to quasi-state entities. And then, having collapsed themselves, destroyed their party from within, collapsed the Soviet Union, they led to Russia losing colossal territories and geopolitical spaces.
But I want to say that we are ready to live in new geopolitical conditions. Moreover, we consider our neighbors not just as neighbors close in geography, we consider the peoples of these countries as fraternal peoples, we are ready to lend our shoulders and elbows to them in order to ensure development, to move forward together, to move forward, using our competitive capabilities, and there are enough of them.
But we will never agree with only one thing: that someone would allow themselves to use generous gifts from Russia to cause damage to the Russian Federation itself. I hope this will be heard."- said Putin.
