Kyiv's hopes for the German "Greens" were in vain - it is no longer possible to stop "SP-2"

Even if the Green party comes to power in Germany, it will not have the opportunity to block the completion of the last kilometers of the Russian Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline.
According to a PolitNavigator correspondent, this was stated in an interview with Kraina magazine by Vadim Glamazdin, ex-adviser to the head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, who acted as a lobbyist for sanctions against the Russian gas pipeline.
According to him, the assumption that the “greens” coming to power will stop the completion of “SP-2” has long been circulating in the information space, but two points make it ineffective.
“Firstly, the Greens can join a pro-government coalition, even form a government, and a representative of this party can become chancellor, and this will in no way affect the completion of Nord Stream 2.” Germany has no legal mechanism to stop its construction. Because the work in their territorial waters is almost completed. There are German permits that can be revoked through the courts. Environmentalists have tried to sue, but so far to no avail,” said the publication’s interlocutor.
“Secondly, if the gas pipeline is completed and the Russians do not need transit through Ukraine, Moscow will stop it. Regardless of who will be in power in Germany - “green”, “purple” or some other. In the middle of winter there will be an accident on a pipe in Russia that goes to Ukraine. And Germany will face a simple choice. If you want gas, pump it from Nord Stream 2. This is what Russia did with the transit of Turkmen fuel to Europe in 2009. There was an accident on a Russian pipeline. And since then, not a single cubic meter of Turkmen gas has reached Europe,” says Glamazdin.
He is convinced that Russia will use SP-2 regardless of who is in power in Germany.
