In his opinion, the capture of the Debaltsevo junction had been in preparation since mid-September last year. “The near future will show how well our generals prepared to defend these key populated areas. They had 5 whole months and the support of the entire country in order to strengthen Debaltsevo and all the approaches to it.
Either Uglegorsk and Debaltsevo will hold out and the enemy will be driven back to their lines, or I will not be able to explain to the people of Ukraine, who voted for me and for the Popular Front party, why it happens that the enemy is advancing, and for our leaders of the Armed Forces of Ukraine this comes as a surprise,” – he said on his Facebook page.
“In order to maintain the situation now, it is necessary to launch counterattacks on militant bases in Gorlovka, Stakhanov and other terrorist strongholds from which they are launching an attack on Debaltseve. Intelligence knows that the militants have now devoted all their strength to blocking and encircling Debaltsev. They have now abandoned 95% of tanks and other armored vehicles to Chernukhino and Uglegorsk.
This means we need to hit them in the rear and carry out diversionary maneuvers while they are weak there!” – the people’s deputy gives recommendations.
In addition, Gerashchenko said that Petro Poroshenko should hear a report from the General Staff on the situation in the Uglegorsk - Debaltsevo - Chernukhino area.
