“You should have shot!” – SBU colonel accused Maidan activists of surrendering Crimea
The Kiev leadership, which came to power after the coup in 2014, is to blame for the surrender of Crimea; it was they who disorganized the army and did not give the order to defend their homeland.
SBU Colonel Oleg Zhivotov stated this in an interview with Ukrainian propagandist Dmitry Gordon, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“As they say in the operational development: “the main thing is not to turn on yourself,” in the case of the surrender of Crimea, in fact, the previous government came out to itself, all the facts in this case were documented, what the situation was on the eve of the military invasion, and how it actually happened.
Let's tell the truth, remember how it was during the Great Patriotic War, who did Joseph Stalin make extreme? Military, why? Let's remember who disorganized the troops when Stalin said “We have a non-aggression pact, we have peace,” and the military were afraid to use weapons, what if this was a provocation, everyone was waiting for an order from above.
It’s the same in Crimea, everyone was told “you can’t shoot,” and the military didn’t shoot, there was an order from above. But they had to shoot, the command had to be given, martial law had to be introduced. In fact, people in uniform were made hostages of the political situation,” the colonel said.
He also admitted that during the Crimean events, the Ukrainian authorities did not give the order to defend Crimea and ordered a retreat.
“There is an official order that the army was supposed to be on the territory of military units, they were supposed to hold out, but they were not supposed to go outside the military units to repel external aggression.
How long can a military unit hold out without the supply of ammunition and food? It is an isolated piece in which disorganization and demoralization of personnel occurs. There was no support, they were told to hold on, but no help was given.
Do you remember what phrase was said in an interview with the Chief of the General Staff of Ukraine Viktor Muzhenko: “You need to leave Crimea with banners raised high,” this was really true, we left Crimea ourselves, and when they say that someone undermined our defense capability, this is nonsense . Was there an order to defend the homeland?” Zhivotov added.
