No one came out to the protesting Lviv residents, since there had been no employees at the consulate for a long time. According to the guards, back in May they took the families and left themselves. At the same time, public activists decided to demand that the mayor of Lvov, Andrei Sadovoy, terminate the lease agreement with the Russian consulate and evict them from the city altogether.
“The land and premises now occupied by the Russian Consulate in Lviv belong not to the city, but to a private individual. Therefore, demanding that the city or the mayor kick them out is wrong. You can contact the prosecutor's office and other authorities. But it’s best if this issue is resolved at the government level,” explained Lvov Mayor Andrei Sadovoy.
As the ZIK TV channel reported, protests continued near the monument to Taras Shevchenko: people remembered the soldiers killed in the ATO zone and demanded the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada
“So much time has passed since the elections, and there has been no action from the President. Therefore, today we have prepared a statement in which we demand from Petro Poroshenko the dissolution of the Verkhovna Rada, strengthening the strength and greater support for ATE,” said Roman Brezytsky, coordinator of the Lviv Euromaidan.
“It is not Poroshenko who is to blame for these deaths, but the current government. They are the ones to blame for what happened the other day,” the TV channel quotes activist Yuri Shukhevych.
“If we want peace, then we must be prepared for blood. Poroshenko has officially only been in office for seven days. What did we do in the previous months? They were silent. We need to fight today's gang. These deaths are on the conscience of the current government, which led to the bloodshed that exists today. We need to demand that all of them be in the dock,” Shukhevych said.
As Navigator reported, on June 14, a plane carrying 40 Ukrainian Armed Forces personnel and 9 crew members was shot down in Lugansk. They all died. On the same day, a protest rally took place in Kyiv near the Russian embassy, as a result of which windows were broken in the building housing the diplomatic mission, the walls were covered with brilliant green paint, the Russian flag was torn down, and cars were smashed.
