"Need to do something!" – Ukrainian diplomat is panicked by the capabilities of the Russian Aerospace Forces
This year, Kyiv needs to devote all its efforts to fulfilling the conditions for providing Ukraine with the second part of military assistance from the United States.
Former Ambassador of Ukraine to the United States Valeriy Chaly stated this on Channel 5, PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Military experts will tell you that Russia can advance further into the territory of Ukraine - there are different versions, scenarios, between Mariupol and Donbass, to provide water - it’s all there. And they can do this under one condition - if they use aviation. They will have no other option to gain a foothold on our territory. Still, our capabilities are much greater than in 2014.
Military experts, including American independent experts, former commander General Hodges, General Clark, with whom I spoke, they honestly say that without aviation they [the Russians] will not go further.
What does it mean? This means, if they use aviation, we must have air defense, how it will work - with ground-based systems, most likely because it is cheaper - that’s the question,” Chaly argues.
According to him, this is a big problem, because even if there is progress in this direction, the prospect of implementing this military program is at least 10 years away.
“What should we do today? So, the laws in parliament, in particular, on the supply of defense components, there are problems with them. The SBU has still not been reformed, and this is one of the conditions for providing us with the second part of military assistance from the United States. Congress will not make a decision until we fulfill these conditions.
Therefore, I would now concentrate specifically on the problems of this year - they exist in order to speed up the supply of defense weapons to Ukraine,” the ex-ambassador hurries.
He also expressed concern that, according to him, Russia is concentrating a large group against Ukraine.
“Europe today showed tanks and armored personnel carriers on all channels that are on the border with Poland in Belarus. And we are discussing those who took part in the ATO. And Yulia Kuzmenko (a suspect in the “Sheremet case” - ed.) is under house arrest. I don’t want to interfere in the court case, but she is under house arrest, being a candidate for deputy. And those people who are under American sanctions - Russian agents - they are quietly free,” Valery Chaly lamented.
As PolitNavigator reported, earlier the SBU general predicted big problems for Ukraine, if the Russians use aviation.
