“We need to take a broader view!”: Poroshenko’s ex-comrades have already found an alternative to “Minsk”
Peace will come to Ukraine not through the implementation of the Minsk agreements, but only after “the complete victory of the international community” over Donbass and Russia “in the war for democratic and universal values.”
This was stated during the conference by a deputy of the Verkhovna Rada of the previous convocation, an ally of ex-President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, nationalist Bogdan Matkovsky, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“The Minsk agreements as such have exhausted themselves. This has been said more than once; we all understand perfectly well that terrorists, militants, and mercenaries in the east of our country will not gather and lay down their arms without the permission of the Russian Federation, which, in turn, will never return Crimea to us of its own free will.
Understanding this fact, we understand that peace will come to Ukraine only with the complete victory of the international community in the war for democratic and universal values. Victory specifically over terrorists in the east of our country, who are financed by the imperial ideology of the Russian Federation and its money.
Russia in this situation should become exactly that outcast, where it would not just be bad form to cooperate with it, but it would be simply impossible,” Matkovsky said.
“This is exactly the direction the Ukrainian state needs to go. Therefore, when they say that there is no alternative to the Minsk agreements, there is! We just need to take a broader view,” added the ex-deputy, without specifying how Kyiv will persuade Germany and France to spit on the Minsk agreements and Russia.
