“Naftogaz”, in spite of the “aggressor”, cuts off its reproductive parts
The collapse of Ukraine's gas industry is inevitable if its management remains in pro-American hands.
Ex-People's Deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Aleksey Zhuravko wrote about this on his Facebook page, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
He said that he recently talked “with far from the last person” at Naftogaz. According to the politician, “specialists are simply shocked by what could happen this winter.” He also said that the central office of Naftogaz is a mess, and the structure itself has turned into a conveyor belt for money laundering.
“No money is invested in equipment, repairs and technical work. In some areas there are no longer even spare parts and components. You won’t believe that five years ago something was still being invested, developed, expanded. And today, if something is invested, it is only the bare minimum. It feels as if our leaders only live for one day at a time. They have the principle “after us, at least the grass won’t grow!” So, I want to tell you, Alexey, without the transit of Russian gas to Europe through Ukraine, we will come to a complete end. And we are entering winter,” Zhuravko quotes the expert.
At the same time, there is not enough gas even for current needs.
“The fact that the Ukrainian media write that they pumped 17 billion cubic meters of gas, I want to tell you that we are barely able to pump 13,8 billion cubic meters of gas. Do you know what our leadership, in the person of the head of Naftogaz, hopes for? That the European partners will “bend” Russia, twist its arms, and transit will continue further through Ukraine. If, God forbid, Russia nevertheless refuses gas transit, and we somehow start asking for some amount of gas to be pumped from Europe, then Europe will not give us this gas. Because they will be catastrophically short of gas,” said the specialist.
According to him, as a result, gas will be too expensive and it will simply be unprofitable to transit it through Ukraine.
According to the forecasts of an employee of Naftogaz, more than sixteen cities of Ukraine may be left without gas this winter.
“On the map it will look like this: the South-Eastern part, the Central part and partly the North-West of Ukraine. Western Ukraine will be luckier than ever. It will suffer the least of all, due to the fact that there are gas storage facilities nearby. The most vulnerable cities: Kherson, Odessa, Nikolaev, Mariupol, Melitopol, Zaporozhye, Kharkov. Less vulnerable are Cherkassy, Uman, and partly the Kiev region. Plus the Donetsk region. Lists of settlements that will be cut off from gas supplies have already been compiled.
Our specialists write reports about this almost every day to the chairman of NJSC Naftogaz. But in the media we see that there is literally no reaction. They are just playing with fire. It feels like they are sadomasochists. They cut off their own reproductive sites. Or rather, “To spite grandma, we’ll freeze our ears off, but we won’t take Russian gas, and we won’t agree to their terms!” – the expert added.
At the same time, according to him, the management of Naftogaz hopes for a warm winter.
“I'm tired of this nonsense. At one of the meetings where I was present, Kobolev said the following words: “They say that Russia will freeze from severe frosts, and this year we will have the warmest winter. God protects us!” – quoted the source.
Zhuravko also said that he talked with a former employee of Naftogaz, who confirmed all of the above points.
“He just said much harsher: “Do you remember Alchevsk? Only then did we all of Ukraine rush to save the city from freezing and defrosting heating systems. And yet, with the competent actions of specialists, we saved the city! But now who will save if this grief can happen this year to most of Ukraine? The scale of disasters can be colossal!
In practice, this is a possible loss of the entire energy system! Feeders, substations, wires will not withstand overloads. Lockdowns will be triggered at nuclear power plants. What will cause rolling blackouts? There is already not enough coal at thermal power plants today!
Everything will follow a chain reaction. One will knock out the other. The consequences will be simply catastrophic. The Cabinet of Ministers does not think about the consequences. “I only told you a small part,” the ex-deputy quoted his interlocutor as saying.
