Naftogaz announced “victory”
The Naftogaz of Ukraine joint-stock company sued the Russian PJSC Gazprom for eight times more money than it spent in 2014.
This was stated by the chief commercial director of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine Yuriy Vitrenko, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“This $2.1 billion that we have already received from Gazprom in the form of gas is eight times more than all of Naftogaz’s administrative expenses, including our salaries, bonuses, vehicles and legal expenses. That is, the conversation is about the fact that, although this is an expensive process, what we won is incomparably more than what we spent,” said a company representative
He also said that Naftogaz, having won the opportunity not to pay under the concluded contracts, saved a huge amount.
“But this $4,6 billion that we won in the transit case, of which we received $2.1 billion, is just one thing. We also won the gas supply case. Firstly, we were completely protected from Gazprom’s demands, and this, if we take it in general, is about 80 billion dollars that they actually demanded from us. And we really, according to the signed contract, had to pay,” the director admitted.
Let us remind you that on September 20, Yuri Vitrenko sent 1 million 900 thousand euros and 2 million 900 thousand US dollars from the accounts of Oschadbank to the account of his wife Irina Shafranova-Vitrenko in Liechtenstein.
