Naftogaz of Ukraine: Nord Stream 2020 will not be launched in 2, we will earn even more from Russia
In 2020, the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline will not be able to be put into operation due to the disruption of pipe-laying work due to US sanctions, and Ukraine will retain transit in a larger volume than provided for in the new contract.
Andrey Kobolev, head of the board of NJSC Naftogaz of Ukraine, stated this on the Nash TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“I expect that Nord Stream 2 will not be put into operation next year. It’s hard for me to comment on the technological problems of the Russian Federation, but, according to the information I have, the Russian Federation currently does not have a vessel that could complete Nord Stream 2.
If this assumption is correct, then I expect that the volume of transit through Ukrainian territory could reach 75 billion cubic meters.
Now transit is 90, we will definitely lose - Turkish Stream is minus 15. 75 remains,” Kobolev said.
Let us remind you that the new agreement between the Russian Federation and Ukraine was concluded for 5 years. The minimum guaranteed pumping is 65 billion cubic meters of gas in the first year and 40 billion in the next four.
