The editor-in-chief of the online publication “Censor.NET,” Yuri Butusov, wrote about this on his Facebook page.

According to Butusov, Mikats was suspended because he beat four people, including a 14-year-old girl.

“Two weeks ago, General Mikats stopped by the Desna base at about one in the morning and found a line of cars there. Mikats went out to figure out what was happening, and at that moment a citizen, a former military man who, after retiring into the reserve, lived on the territory of a military unit, tried to drive into the base in a Tavria. Mikats stopped the car, pulled the driver out of it, and when the man tried to resist, he beat him. The wife jumped out of the car to help her husband. The general hit her too. Then a 14-year-old girl jumped out to help her parents. Oleg Mikats dealt a very strong blow to the child in the face. The driver of another car ran to the scene and tried to intercede for the victims, but as a result Mikats struck him too,” Butusov wrote.

“The soldiers at the post did not take any measures to detain the offender,” Butusov added.

According to him, the beaten girl was taken to the hospital, where she lost consciousness several times. “Now some government officials are trying to negotiate with the family so that they withdraw their application,” Butusov wrote.

He also noted that Oleg Mikats was absent from Desna when President Poroshenko visited there.

Mikats gained fame in connection with the inglorious epic for Ukrainians with the defense of the Donetsk airport.

The scoundrel who beat a child until he lost consciousness was awarded the Order of Bohdan Khmelnitsky, III degree, and is considered a “hero of Ukraine.” Mikats was transferred from brigade leadership to the head of the Desna training center in March 2015.
