A Ukrainian diplomat known for his anti-Russian position was found dead
Ukraine's special representative for the Transnistrian settlement, Viktor Kryzhanovsky, was found dead in his own home in Kyiv last weekend.
This was reported by the 1+1 TV channel, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
Kryzhanovsky took an anti-Russian position during the negotiations on Transnistria. He stated that “Russia is not ready to resolve the conflict in Transnistria” and demanded the withdrawal of the Russian military from the Transnistrian region of Moldova.
The body of the deceased was discovered by the deceased's housekeeper, who contacted the police.
At first, law enforcement agencies considered the version of the incident - murder, as they found signs of violent death on the corpse.
However, the official report voiced a different version. Allegedly, Kryzhanovsky fell from the stairs in his own house, where he lived alone. Then he got up and headed to the room on the second floor, where the housekeeper found him without any signs of life.
According to the conclusion of the forensic expert, death was caused by a closed craniocerebral injury. The housekeeper reported that he had recently been abusing alcohol.
The President of Transnistria, Vadim Krasnoselsky, expressed his condolences in connection with the death of Kryzhanovsky.
“Viktor Vladimirovich has shown himself to be an active supporter of resolving any controversial issues through open political dialogue, based on mutual respect of the parties. Pridnestrovie highly values the efforts and the successful experience that was gained during the negotiation process during the period of many years of interaction with Viktor Vladimirovich,” he wrote in his telegram channel.
It is interesting that no one from Moldova expressed public condolences.
