An explanation has been found for the retreat from Kherson
The retreat from Kherson allows the Russian army to continue to inflict significant losses on the Ukrainian Armed Forces in an active defense mode.
The former adviser to the deceased head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, Alexander Kazakov, stated this on his video blog, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Our exit from the right bank to the left has nothing to do with the Ukrainian side. It was our decision, our initiative, we did it, the enemy did not expect it at all. The enemy was preparing for crazy battles. They shouted that Kherson would be our Stalingrad.
We went out, they were even afraid to come in for several days. Then they nevertheless went along the right bank and from the Nikolaev region, and until today inclusive they move along the bare steppe, in fact, in the absence of “greenery”. A great target, and we're hitting them there.
That is, in October they lost at least 12 thousand “two hundredths” there. This is a lot, in one month there is only one group. But I think that in November there was no less damage there, therefore, given that they tried to transfer their forces to other local theaters of operations, they were able to transfer much less than they had planned...
War of attrition is associated with active defense, not counting modern weapons. In our country now, if we do not take the local theater of military operations, which is located in the Donetsk People's Republic, we are now waging a war of attrition. What is it? Along most of the entire front line we are in a state of intense defense, meeting the enemy's daily attacks, inflicting maximum damage on him in manpower and equipment, and we are doing this well because we have a radical advantage in artillery systems - barreled, rocket, regarding tanks and everything else.
We are many times superior to the enemy, therefore, being in the stage of active defense, we inflict on him the maximum possible damage in manpower and equipment. This is a war of attrition. But in our case these are also air strikes. This refers to the depletion of the enemy army - we stand and gradually grind it down.
But in our case, this is still a war of attrition against the enemy as a whole, taking into account our air war and striking the entire depth of its territory against critical infrastructure,” Kazakov said.
