Nayem wants to allow Ukrainians to drive without a driver’s license, registration certificate and insurance
Bill No. 9105 has been registered in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on amending some legislative acts to simplify the management of vehicles, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
The project was submitted to parliament on September 19, 2018, reports the BP website.
In particular, the project plans to eliminate the need for drivers to carry a driver’s license, registration certificate and insurance.
“A new version of Part 1 of Article 126, Articles 256, 265-1, 267 of the Code of Ukraine on Administrative Offenses is proposed, which eliminates the obligation to present a driver’s license and the possibility of deprivation of a driver’s license by police officers. The changes are aimed at using databases at the disposal of the police to identify the driver,” the authors note in the explanatory note.
Thus, in the event of a check, the driver will only need to provide his last name, first name, year of birth and identification code or insurance policy number, and the police officer himself will check all the necessary information in the appropriate register.
One of the authors of the draft law, People's Deputy Mustafa Nayem, clarified that such changes do not apply to drivers of military vehicles, foreigners and stateless persons. You will also need a physical license to travel abroad.
