Former journalist and now Verkhovna Rada deputy from the Poroshenko Bloc Mustafa Nayem sharply criticized Vitali Klitschko, whom he himself helped come to power as one of the propagandists of the 2014 coup.

“The mayor of Kyiv Vitaliy Klitschko called on the Kyiv patrol service to help the city authorities get rid of spontaneous trade. Tell me, is this a dream or was he mistaken? Do I understand correctly that the mayor of the city, who is suffocating from the inaction of the city authorities and the poorly hidden protection of illegal construction, is asking the police to disperse the grandmothers with seeds, coffee machines and dismantle the MAFs?!

I will not raise the topic of elite developments, otherwise we will get bogged down in an excursion into the activities of the “predecessors”. Let's talk about modern history. A large number of completely new establishments, construction projects, etc. appeared in Kyiv even AFTER the election of Vitali Klitschko. They are built and opened in the city center, WITHOUT any permitting documentation and with the full assistance of the city authorities.

For a long time, I and many other people in Kyiv have repeatedly tried to reach out to the mayor and his subordinates with one request: DO AT LEAST SOMETHING. Contact the prosecutor's office, don't let them open up, rebel, hold press conferences, criticize, fire silent officials. Believe me, people, media, deputies - everyone will support you! JUST DO SOMETHING. I myself have repeatedly spoken about this, conveyed it in my requests, letters and appeals to Vitali Klitschko and his subordinates.

And what is the answer? Nothing. ZERO. Moreover. I myself have repeatedly witnessed how officials from the Kiev administration, from the State Construction Committee or some department of urban development come to the site of an illegal cafe or construction site, see and admit an open violation of the law, then call somewhere, shrug their shoulders and... quietly leave. And after some very short time, a cafe-restaurant-handel appears in this place, and works quietly. You'd have to be a complete idiot to believe that the mayor's office doesn't know about this and isn't covering it up. And if they really don’t know and can’t do anything, I have a question for them: actually, why are you there?

And finally. Vitali Klitschko has been mayor for a year now. The police are only a week old. One week. They are new. As new as Vitali Klitschko was a year ago. But for some reason I am sure that the people of Kiev will enjoy the patrol service in a year. But I’m not sure whether Vitaliy Klitschko will be able to please the people of Kiev with anything,” Nayem said on his page on the social network.

Nayem’s “epiphany” is connected to the squabble of former allies – Petro Poroshenko, for whom Mustafa now works, and gas oligarch Dmitry Firtash, who helped Poroshenko win the presidential election.

Last spring, Firtash, at a court hearing in Vienna, where charges against him for money laundering were considered, revealed the secrets of Kyiv politics.

Firtash stated that since 2012 he had secretly supported Vitali Klitschko, allegedly having become disillusioned with Viktor Yanukovych and realizing that an alternative candidate was needed for the 2015 elections.

Firtash said that on the eve of the presidential elections last year he held a secret meeting with him and Petro Poroshenko, after which Klitschko withdrew his candidacy from the race. As a result, Poroshenko became president, Klitschko became mayor of Kyiv, and Tymoshenko lost.

“Firtash in Vienna revealed the behind-the-scenes part of the policy and went beyond what he could do under this agreement. He made Poroshenko look like a six oligarch, and in order to restore his full status, Poroshenko needs to prove that this is not so,” Verkhovna Rada deputy Sergei Leshchenko from the Poroshenko Bloc subsequently stated.
