On the eve of March 18, Poroshenko may throw a 200-strong army against Russia
The law “on the de-occupation of Donbass” was adopted purposefully so that its provisions could be applied immediately before the presidential elections in Russia. Political scientist Alexey Martynov stated this on Vesti FM radio.

“I absolutely do not rule out that closer to the Russian elections, relying on this law, Kyiv will organize not just an escalation on the contact line, but the defrosting of a full-fledged conflict, as in 14-15. Russia will face a difficult choice. We cannot help but intervene. On the other hand, our political class will have nothing to do at this moment. We need to think about how to act if events follow this scenario,” Martynov said.
He believes that the law was not adopted easily, because many deputies who understood what it would lead to were “a little scared,” the PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Today Poroshenko, as the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, has the option at any moment to raise the entire 200-strong army under arms and send it wherever he pleases,” Martynov said.
