On the eve of the offensive in Donbass, Ukrainian military personnel are leaving the army en masse
Ukrainian military personnel, increasingly aware of the inevitability of a large-scale attack on the Donbass republics and their destined role as “cannon fodder” in this offensive, are trying by hook or by crook to leave the ranks of the Ukrainian army.
The head of the press service of the DPR Armed Forces, Daniil Bezsonov, stated this today during a weekly briefing, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“Not wanting to participate in the implementation of plans to resume large-scale hostilities in the Donbass, more than four hundred servicemen of the 25th separate airborne, 79th separate air assault and 57th separate motorized infantry brigades wrote a report on their dismissal from the ranks of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
In this regard, the situation in the 25th brigade became so complicated that its positions in the area of the city of Avdeevka had to be reinforced by units of the 95th separate air assault brigade from the commander’s reserve, the so-called ATO,” said Daniil Bezsonov.
He also noted that the Ukrainian command, fearing a mass exodus of “warriors of light,” is hiding from the Armed Forces of Ukraine the legal details of the contract, which provide for the possibility of its early termination.
“Ukrainian soldiers who served 24 months decided to exercise their right to early dismissal provided for by Ukrainian law. However, the command of the brigades in the ATO zone, fearing a mass exodus of subordinates on the eve of the planned offensive actions, in every possible way hides from them the procedure for terminating the contract provided for by law,” added the head of the press service.
This, in turn, provoked desertion from the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which became widespread.
