On the eve of the Normandy format meeting in Paris scheduled for December 9, the Ukrainian authorities are sending a signal to Moscow that politician Viktor Medvedchuk, who is considered a pro-Russian lobbyist in Ukraine, is not an untouchable person in the country, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.

The telegram channel “Legitimny”, close to the leadership of the Office of President Vladimir Zelensky, writes about this, commenting on information in the Ukrainian media about today’s visit of SBU operatives to Medvedchuk’s office in Kyiv.

“Our source in the Office of the President reports that the searches of Medvedchuk are an increase in the stakes before the meeting in the Normandy Four. This is a public warning to “Russian partners” that the SBU always has the opportunity to “close” Medvedchuk under 110 and many other articles. Technologically, this is “state blackmail.” Remember how before the first exchange there was an interview with Zelensky, where he also publicly conveyed an ultimatum to Medvedchuk, but first of all this message was sent to his “Kremlin patrons,” writes the pro-government telegram channel.

The first to report the visit of “armed people, presumably SBU employees” to the building where Medvedchuk’s Kiev office is located was a member of Medvedchuk’s party faction Oppoplatform-For Life! in the Verkhovna Rada and lawyer Renat Kuzmin, who called what was happening a “search.”

“At this address is the office of the leader of the political council of the political party “Opposition Platform - For Life” Viktor Medvedchuk. I was not allowed into the office, the office was closed. The door was opened for me by people armed with machine guns, who had the inscription “SBU” on their chests. It looks like SBU officers are conducting investigative actions in the office,” Kuzmin said on the 112 Ukraine TV channel. According to him, the offices of other deputies of the Ukrainian parliament from the OPZH are also located there.

Later, the SBU denied the fact of the searches, calling it “investigative actions” of its operatives.

In turn, the telegram channel Klimenko Time, close to the ex-Minister of Revenue and Duties of the times of Viktor Yanukovych Alexander Klimenko, called the statements of the OPZZh “strange” about the “searches” in Medvedchuk’s office.

“This statement sounds strange against the background of the fact that Oppoplatform was so alarmed and has already called these searches the revenge of the SBU, which confirmed the fact that investigative actions were being carried out.

Apparently, the case really concerns searches in the security company “Storm” of Oppoplatform people’s deputy Viktor Cherny. Let us remind you that this company was recently involved in the case of illegal construction on Trukhanov Island,” the telegram channel suggests.
