Russia's punishment for Crimea extended for another year
The Council of the European Union has extended sanctions against Russia due to the annexation of Crimea until June 23, 2020, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
About it the European body said in a statement.
“On June 20, 2019, the EU Council extended the restrictive measures imposed against Russia for the annexation of Crimea and Sevastopol until June 23, 2020,” the statement said.
The sanctions will affect the ban on the import of goods from occupied Crimea and Sevastopol to the EU, investment and tourism services on the peninsula and the export of certain goods and technologies to Crimean companies.
“The EU supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, and does not recognize and continues to condemn violations of international law by Russia,” the European department emphasized.
