Nalyvaichenko and Avakov recruited mercenaries to capture Yanukovych
Nalyvaichenko and Avakov, accompanied by Alpha, flew to Crimea by plane to catch Yanukovych, force him to write a resignation letter, have a show trial and imprison him, but they limited themselves to ambushes at his state dacha.
This was stated by Konstantin Kobzar, the former head of the security service of the President of Ukraine during the court hearing in the Yanukovych case, a PolitNavigator correspondent reports.
“When we arrived in Crimea, I immediately tasked Pavlenko with contacting the advance group that I sent to Crimea to ensure the safety of Yanukovych while he was in Crimea. And he started calling. Two people approached: one in civilian clothes, one in camouflage. I went out to a man in civilian clothes, and he asked about our further actions. I told him that we needed to make several calls to make a decision. At this moment, Pavlenko reported that there was no contact with the advance group. All phones are switched off.
After that, realizing that there was no transport to move to the ninth state dacha in Crimea, I again contacted a person from the Federal Protective Service of the Russian Federation. And he said that we had unforeseen circumstances, I couldn’t contact my advance group, there was no transport to move to the state dacha, and asked for assistance, if possible. After 5 minutes, a man in civilian clothes said that transport would be provided. Minibuses arrived and we went to the ninth state dacha,” Kobzar said.
Then he told how he learned about the arrival of Arsen Avakov and Valentin Nalyvaichenko, appointed after the coup as the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the Security Service of Ukraine, and the ambush they organized at the state dacha.
“When I turned on the phone, I saw a missed call from Ishchenko, a security officer, a former employee of the Simferopol Alpha who remained in Mezhygorye almost until the end. He said that his former colleagues told him that Avakov and Nalvaichenko had arrived in Crimea, accompanied by Alpha, in full gear and equipment with the task of identifying and detaining Yanukovych. He also said that Avakov, Nalyvaichenko and “Alpha” arrived on February 23 at one in the morning at the ninth state dacha and demanded to come in. They were not immediately allowed in. But they got in there and searched it.
They checked the entire state dacha, placed “secrets” there, set up an ambush of Alpha employees, and seized the president’s motorcade. After that, Nalyvaichenko and Avakov arrived in Kyiv, and Nalyvaichenko said that they were in Crimea, but kept silent about the fact that they were at the state dacha,” recalls Kobzar.
The purpose of Nalyvaichenko and Avakov’s visit to Crimea was to capture Yanukovych, the witness believes.
“After I learned about the ambush from Ishchenko, I forbade him to go there to join the advance group, but told him to go to the state security department in Crimea. I decided to double-check the information about the ambush, because this is serious and dangerous information. I entrusted this to Pavlenko and told him to go and double-check. After some time, Pavlenko confirmed the information, adding that two charter planes arrived at Belbek on the night of February 22-23: in one, Avakov with Nalyvaichenko and the Alpha group, in the second - armed militants, probably mercenaries, since they were English speakers are among them.
Their task was to capture Yanukovych, bring him to Kiev, then, using certain methods, convince him to write a letter of resignation, then arrange a trial of him, accuse him of everything, and imprison him for a show, and after a while he would have a heart attack or something else something,” says Kobzar.
